Austria: Vienna Christmas Market

The Christmas Market in Vienna

Local regions have developed their own customs for celebrating the Advent season, but among the most festive is the Christmas Market, which pops up across Germany and Austria, as well as elsewhere in Europe.  In Vienna there are several of them, but likely the winner in terms of size and variety of shops is the Christmas Market at the City Hall of Vienna.  But this is just part of a city that sparkles with light during the Advent and Christmas season.
